Kazakhstan’s national carrier Air Astana has reported net profit (unaudited) for 2015 in the amount of $47.4million, an increase of 144 percent over 2014, the company said.
The number of passengers increased by 2 percent to 3.86 million, whilst capacity increased by 6 percent. Total revenue fell by 21 percent from $933million to $738.1million.
Commenting on the results, Air Astana President & CEO stated, "a sharp fall in revenue was more than compensated for by significant cost savings, including, though not limited to, jet fuel savings.
Air Astana has been carrying out flights since 2002 and today, it has a fleet of 30 western production aircraft with industrial average age of 5.7 years. Its route network includes more than 60 international and regional destinations.
