First Deputy Minister of National Security Madat Guliyev has commented on the latest incidents around the Ministry of National Security (MNS).
He said there is no necessity to appoint others to the posts of the dismissed officials and instead there is a need for staff reduction.
"We think the staff of the Ministry of National Security should be operative but few in numbers. 250 unfit people have been relieved of their duties since I was appointed to this post,” Guliyev said, adding that some qualified officials who have been dismissed due to various reasons in the past will be recalled to service again.
He also spoke of the criminal case launched in regard to the happenings around the ministry.
"The investigation continues, and those mentioned in the criminal case will of course be arrested if their guilt is proven. Whoever has broken the law, will be brought to justice,” Guliyev stressed.
