Azerbaijani soldier Rashad Jafarzadeh was killed as Armenian armed forces opened fire on Azerbaijani army positions from mortars on Dec.16, Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry told APA.
The defense ministry extended deepest condolences to the families and closed ones of the martyr and wished them patience.
The Azerbaijani defense ministry also dismissed recent provocative information disseminated by Armenian media outlets as if Armenian military killed two Azerbaijani snipers on the contact line. "This information is groundless and doesn’t reflect the truth,” noted the ministry.
The ministry stated that Azerbaijani armed forces fully control the operational situation on the contact line and continue taking all necessary measures to prevent Armenian diversion attempts.
