39 people arrested in absentia over Khojaly genocide

Some 39 people accused of committing the Khojaly genocide have been arrested in absentia and put on an international wanted list by Azerbaijan’s law-enforcement authorities, said Alakbar Khalilov, a member of the Investigative Group jointly created by the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Interior Ministry, and the State Security Service.

He noted that 19 of them were soldiers of the infantry regiment 366.

"Among them are people of Armenian, Russian, and other nationalities, as well as some police officers from Khankendi and Asgeran,” he said.

Khalilov added that the investigation is ongoing.
